Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or similar role.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and their data services (e.g., AWS S3, Redshift, Glue; Google BigQuery, Dataflow; Azure Blob Storage, Data Factory).
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or Scala.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Hands-on experience building and optimizing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop ecosystem) is a strong plus.
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Superset).
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), and MLOps practices.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of data governance and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with the retail industry or SaaS business models.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming data from diverse sources.
  • Build and manage cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy across all systems.
  • Develop and implement data models and database designs optimized for performance and scalability.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to visualize data and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to understand data needs and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Explore and implement machine learning models for predictive analytics, customer segmentation, and other applications.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud data technologies, data science methodologies, and industry best practices.
